I support the use of emergency contraception in cases of rape and incest, but am concerned that this OTC medication could result in the ongoing trafficking or sexual abuse of women and girls. I support laws that protect unborn children from dismemberment, sex selection and late-term abortion. I will work to ensure that clinics that specialize in reproductive health and abortion services meet the health and safety standards required of other similar outpatient surgical centers. | |||

A thorough accounting of the current financial status and actuarial analysis of realistic long-term growth expectations will provide a more accurate picture of the fiscal health these funds. It may ultimately be necessary to increase public employee and/or employer retirement contributions, and to re-align vesting requirements so they are as fair as possible for current and future employees. Further reform of pensions can be considered once the outcome of cases challenging AB 340 (2012) are decided by the California Supreme Court. | |||

Yet, there is a slight the chance that an innocent person could pay the ultimate price for a crime they didn't commit. Although I believe that capital punishment may be warranted for certain crimes, I have some reservations regarding the use of capital punishment. I believe that option to charge minors close to the age of majority accused of violent crimes as adults should be available. I support cooperation between federal immigration authorities and state/local police. | |||
